Abstract

Injection locking has been demonstrated to be a very effective method of intensity noise suppression [1]. However, the intensity noise of an injection locked laser at low frequencies is dominated by noise due to its pump source and, as such, is relatively unaffected by the process of injection locking. Also, at frequencies near the slave laser’s resonant relaxation oscillation (RRO), the injection locked laser amplifies the intensity noise of the master laser. In this work we will demonstrate an intensity noise suppression system that corrects both of these problems whilst also taking advantage of the benefits associated with using an injection locked laser.
