Abstract

While the latest Report to Congress on the prevention of underage alcohol use strikes a positive chord in chronicling a downward trend in youth drinking, it also issues warnings about other recent developments that could shift behavior in the opposite direction. Some of this involves pandemic‐influenced policy changes that have expanded adult access to alcohol (such as through what appears to be a lasting “to‐go” cocktail phenomenon) but also could result in more exposure to alcohol among youths.
