Abstract

Insurance giant Aetna violated the federal parity law and the Affordable Care Act (ACA) when it denied coverage for the residential treatment stay of a California teenager with autism, alleges a class‐action complaint filed last month in U.S. District Court. The lawsuit states that Aetna routinely applies internally derived standards for residential treatment that it does not require of comparable residential providers in general health care.
