Abstract

The Department of the Treasury and the IRS, on August 13, issued proposed regulations providing rules stating the lack of availability of federal income tax charitable contribution deductions when the transferor of money or other property to one or more charitable organizations receives or expects to receive a state or local tax credit (REG‐112176‐18). The proposal also includes similar rules in connection with payments made by trusts and estates.
