Abstract
The authors consider the problems of formation of a composite structure in the iron-chromium-carbon system in the course of crystallization during a multipass build-up with the 25X5MΦC material, as well as features specific to formation of a layered structure at the contact boundary between the metal matrix and the built-up metal. Theoretical foundations have been worked out and practical methods have been proposed to control formation of composite structures exhibiting a set of high service properties for iron-carbon alloys with different carbon equivalents.
