Abstract

The electroplastic effect and its features have been studied in pure metals and alloys using tension with the introduction of different modes and regimes of electric current. The amplitude, direction and sequence of the stress jumps in the stress–strain curves are analyzed. It is shown that EPE depends on phase transformations and can be accompanied by a change in the direction of stress jumps, strengthening, grain size effect, and structure refinement.
