Abstract

ABSTRACTResistivity study of two-phase ceramics (1-x) BiFeO3 - x MgFe2O4 showed the presence of PTC thermistor anomaly at a temperature of 260°C, which is less than the phase transition temperatures in the starting components of the system. To elucidate the nature of the thermistor anomaly, the measurements of samples annealed in reducing H2 or CO2 atmosphere carried out. The physical picture of the observed resistivity maximum is discussed.
