Abstract

The article presents the need for target specialization of a new generation of topographic maps of the Arctic territories, taking into account their physical and geographical specificity. The possibility of such specialization on the basis of theoretical, information and technological substantiation using remote sensing materials from space and GIS cartography has been determined. Studies have been carried out to determine the decoding capabilities of space images, in order to expand and clarify the existing system of conventional signs of cryogenic relief and soils. On the basis of research, new conventional signs for polygonal, bumpy, ice, solifluction and thermokarst forms are proposed.
