Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the peculiarities of social protection of servicemen and employees of the Security Service of Ukraine who are equal citizens of the state and have full rights and freedoms defined by international legal norms and relevant constitutional principles. Emphasis was placed on the importance of social protection of employees and servicemen of the Security Service of Ukraine, who are a special category of employees who carry out their work on behalf of the state and for the implementation of its functions. It is noted that the specifics of the implementation of social protection in the SBU is due on the one hand to increased risk of work and legal restrictions that negatively affect the social status of this category of workers and make them vulnerable to certain social events, on the other. Therefore, there is no doubt that the importance of this activity for society requires the state to make additional commitments to the SBU, not limited to general guarantees of life support at the level necessary for its survival. In addition, social protection of this category of workers should not only compensate for difficult working conditions and limit their rights arising from the conditions of this type of service, but also stimulate professional growth, motivate them to perform their tasks at a high professional level, selflessly and effectively . Therefore, proper state funding of social protection measures for such persons will ensure the necessary effectiveness of their activities. It is noted that along with the ongoing reform of the Security Service of Ukraine, the issue of social protection of workers should be on the agenda, which should be based on additional social guarantees and rights and due to the specifics and complexity of professional activities, the presence of many risky situations. Because ensuring the appropriate level of social protection of SBU employees will help build confidence in a decent life both during service and after work.
