Abstract

Regardless of the method of mixture formation in a diesel engine, the cetane number (CN) of the fuel must be adequate to provide an ignition delay ~i corresponding to the optimal course of starting and combustion processes, and also the necessary ecological and economic indexes. For laboratory studies of the influence of fuel CN on ~i in marine diesels with different methods of mixture formation, operating at different speeds, we selected a series of fuels and fuel blends from West Siberian crudes.
