Abstract

Rocketborne measurements of ionospheric parameters over magnetic equator Thumba, India are presented in this paper. Results obtained from another rocket range, SHAR, India situated off the equator are also presented. The production mechanism of plasma irregularities in 80–150 km altitude in various scale sizes are discussed. Similarities and differences in various kind of plasma processes like gradient drift instability, two stream instability and wind induced effects at both the locations are discussed.
