Abstract

The spin-lattice and spin-spin relaxation times of 139La are measured in manganite LaMnO3. Analysis of the frequency dependence of the spin-lattice relaxation rate in the paramagnetic temperature range shows that this quantity is determined by magnetic fluctuations. The magnitude of the fluctuating field is estimated. It is shown that the correlation time for spin fluctuations varies with temperature in accordance with the Arrhenius law. The high value of the spin-spin relaxation rate in the paramagnetic region can be due to strong anisotropy of fluctuating magnetic fields at La nuclei.
