Abstract

A method of changing the composition of trace impurities in the crystallization-recrystallization regime is proposed for obtaining ammonium tetrafluoroberyllate crystals by introducing a complexing agent (sodium ion in the form of sodium carbonate), which provides a more than three-fold reduction of the sum of limited impurities in crystals. Purer crystals yield correspondingly purer metallic beryllium. A technological scheme for processing beryllium hydroxide and obtaining high-purity ammonium tetrafluoroborate is proposed.
