Abstract

The article explores such a linguocultural phenomenon as humor, which is one of the important concepts of the English national picture of the world and always expresses serious, deep-seated thoughts hidden in the soul of the people.During the research it was established that for each independent culture its own type of humor, its perception of the comic in different situations, depends on many factors that play a big role in the formation of an original culture. These are historical events, peculiarities of the country's geographical position, the influence of neighboring countries, as well as national traditions and norms of behavior, etc. All the above factors are directly reflected in humor, which led to the emergence of a unique type of humor inherent in each nation in particular. In our study, with examples of short humorous texts - anecdotes, features of Englishhumor as a lingual display of national culture.
