Abstract

One of the promising areas of development of the tourism industry are the creation of tourism clusters. This, in turn, actualizes the issues of the theoretical description of the characteristics and signs of identification of tourist clusters. In this article, authors, using methods of comparative analysis, consider existing approaches to the definition of a tourist cluster, describe modern signs of tourist clusters and ways to identify them. The cluster were revealed by applying the methodology of the categorical-symbolic approach and by the features of the interconnection of the internal components. The scientific article puts forward a number of axioms that relate to the modern features of the functioning of tourist clusters. The results of the study show that the proposed provisions are reliable and can be used as methods of identifying a tourist cluster. The conclusions which were presented by the authors that the signs that allow identifying a tourist cluster are changeable and depend on the specifics of the development of the external environment, each cluster has a unique socio-cultural environment, the peculiarity of cluster development depends on the characteristics of the resources used available in a certain geographical space. In the final part of the article these aspects allowed to propose the author's definition of the concept of "tourist cluster".
