Abstract

Stock market is the primary source for many companies to raise funds for business expansions etc. So it is kept at a close watch by the government, industry and even the central banks of the country to ascertain its proper functioning. The paper discusses the bodies involved in the functioning of the Argentine Stock market. It discuses the role, functions and duties of the stock exchanges involved particularly Buenos Aires Stock Exchange and its index Merval. It also gives an insight into different financial commodities that are traded in the Argentine market. The paper also elaborates the functioning of the regulatory body involved i.e. Comision Nacional de Valores (CNV).
