Abstract
The shapes of adjacent anatomical regions of femur are smooth, and there is no significant concave convex mark. It is obviously difficult to effectively extract the feature points in the smooth region of femur only depending on the calculation of geometric attributes of vertices, which can not guarantee the medical rationality of bone mesh anatomical feature segmentation. For the medical application-oriented femoral anatomical feature segmentation, this study uses the anatomical reference entity (ARE) to describe the typical anatomical structure of femur; on the basis, the boundary range between adjacent feature regions is determined; and then extraction of anatomical boundary feature points with significant medical significance is completed. The experimental results show that the proposed method can effectively extract the femoral anatomical feature points.
