Abstract

American Medical Services (AMS), headquartered in Seattle, Washington and with branch offices in Dubai, UAE is a nonsectarian, non-political organization, apart from its profit activities; AMS concentrate on various non-profit philanthropy programs. One of its important programs is the feasibility study for donation program for Azidothymidine (AZT) HIV-AIDS medication distribution in the African continent. AMS successfully signed five years contract with pharmaceutical manufacturer located in Bangkok-Thailand. To supply generic AZT, with the price of 90% less than other pharmaceutical manufacturers or brand names. The AZT price will provide AMS’s donation program to cover many countries, reach and serve needy populations. The research aimed at the implementation of appropriate assistance to victims of natural and civil disasters that caused by HIV-AIDS in Africa. AMS researches necessary logistical measures to deliver AZT-treatment-distribution-program, specifically to African clinics and hospitals in desperate areas to compact and minimize the impact of HIV-AIDS that devastated Africa. AMS programs aimed at serves needy populations by providing assistance to the most desperate hospitals and clinics. Hospitals, who serve needy populations, make requests for assistance from the World Health Organization (WHO) and AMS supports their specific needs by fulfilling their requests. Currently, AMS is studying programs to offer medical services and sanitary education for the people of sub-Sahara Africa. AMS is dedicated to the concept of strengthening the health care systems of developing nations. All recipients must agree to render services to anyone requesting medical care, regardless of race, religion, ethnic origin, political affiliation or ability to pay. By supplying health care supplies and educational material, AMS increases the productivity of desperate African regions, so that they might grow into self-sufficiency. To launch AMS Medical Donations Program in countries with the most endemic problems of HIV/AIDS was established. Accordingly, AMS developed a plan of action and targeted health facilities that are dedicated to the survival of their indigenous population.It is becoming evident that in the long term, a vaccine may offer the best hope of controlling the AIDS epidemic, especially in developing countries. 1.2 AMS Research Actions: A. Contact ministers of public health about dealings with hospitals. B. Ascertain which public health policies have succeeded. C. Analyze regional epidemics through reports from the WHO and UNAIDS. D. Obtain lists of health care professionals to appoint the task of distribution. E. Evaluate standards for distribution to hospitals and clinics. F. Analyze the efficiency logistical actions. G. Initiate dialogue with ministers of public health about distribution by non-profit agencies to clinics and hospitals in desperate areas. H. Follow-up distribution with requests for reports from ministers of public health.
