Abstract

The paper reports on underlying principles of a semiempirical method developed by constructing a generalized correlation function for interacting magnetic moments of protons. The method enables one to calculate shapes of magnetic resonance lines that are intermediate between the Lorentzian and Gaussian profiles, which is typical of real systems containing protons. The method is a more efficient practical implementation of the proton resonance technique, which can be applied to the testing and diagnostics of paramagnetic materials and bodies.
