Abstract

Purpose: Osteoarthritis (OA) is a severe public health problem, X-rays and MRI are classically used in routine and in clinical research for diagnosis and follow up. While the relevance of diagnostic imaging for assessing the integrity of the joint is well recognized, methods with sufficiently high resolution and image quality for detecting early OA are still lacking. Spectral Photon Counting CT (SPCCT), also called multicolor CT, is an emerging CT modality, which permits to acquire energy resolved data and brings additional information compared to standard CT.
