Abstract

In this paper, an experimental study on the feasibility of evaluating acoustoelastic coefficient of concrete with one-sided ultrasonic pulse method under tensile stress is conducted. Tensile load cycles are imposed on prismatic concrete specimens and ultrasonic wave velocities are measured simultaneously. Acoustoelastic coefficients are obtained by linear fit of the test results and compared to correlate results in literature. The feasibility of evaluating acoustoelastic coefficient of concrete with one-sided ultrasonic method under tensile stress is discussed.
