Abstract

Background: Cytoreductive surgery (CRS) and perioperative intraperitoneal chemotherapy provides the only chance for long-term survival for selected patients diagnosed with a variety of peritoneal neoplasm, either primary or secondary to digestive or gynecologic malignancies. Conventionally HIPEC (Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy) is performed by open (Coliseum Technique) or closed method using a machine having roller pump and heat exchanger to maintain the flow of chemotherapy solution and it’s temperature (410-430C). The present article is about sharing our technique of delivering intraperitoneal chemotherapy and its outcome in a remote place in India where HIPEC machine is not available.
