Abstract

The pandemic context faced at all levels of society (international, national, state and even municipal) made society hostage to restrictive measures implemented by the government, in its most diverse spheres. The object of this study was the municipality of Ivinhema/MS where these restrictive measures were also present, reflecting on the need to make alternative measures feasible for business and income generation. In this way, the objective of the study was to present viable alternatives of social economies for the local development of the municipality of Ivinhema/MS. The main theoretical constructs used as a basis were local development, creative economy, circular economy, social currency and, finally, the brief presentation of the municipality under analysis. The case studies show that the application of alternative economic models has great potential to promote improvement in terms of employment and income in the municipality, with social and economic benefits to the local and regional community.
