Abstract

Objective To explore the feasibility of the implementation of evidence-based nursing in infection control process optimization management of digestive endoscopy center. Methods A total of 98 patients were enrolled in the digestive endoscopy center from September 2015 to May 2016, and the patients were divided into experimental group and control group with 49 cases in each group. The experimental group received infection control process optimization management based on evidence-based nursing, while the control group received routine care of digestive endoscopy center. A variety of adverse reactions, infection, and pathogen of the two groups were analyzed. The patients' satisfaction on the nursing work was analyzed with self-designed satisfaction questionnaire. Results The incidences of a variety of adverse reactions in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences in the incidences of postoperative discomfort, nausea, lacrimation (P<0.05). The incidences of a variety of infections in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences in the incidences of upper respiratory infection and digestive system infections (P<0.05). The overall satisfaction rate of the experimental group was 95.9%, significantly higher than 71.4% of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusions The implementation of evidence-based nursing in infection control process optimization management can significantly reduce the adverse reactions and infection in the process of digestive endoscopy, significantly improve patients' satisfaction on the nursing work, improve the nursing quality, and promote the healthy doctor-patient relationship development. Key words: Digestive endoscopy; Infection control; Evidence-based nursing
