Abstract

This study was designed to determine fear of falling and its related variables in elderly people living in rest home. 85 elderly people staying at Hacý Rukiye Gazioðlu Rest Home are included. Elderly people, are evaluated by mental state; Standardized Mini Mental Test , balance; Berg Balance Scala, mobility; Time up and go test, depression; Geriatric Depression Scale, daily of living activities; Katz’s Daily of Living Activities Index, fear of fall; Tinetti’s effect scale of fall and visual analog scale. 38 elderly people are (44.7%) female, 47 are male ( 55.3%). Age average is 77.36±8,68 (65-98). Due to VAS evaluation 61 of elderly people (71.8%) are effected by fear of fall.
