Abstract

The application of electrocatalyst is the key to improve the efficiency of water splitting. Here, we report a Fe-doped NiSe2 catalyst prepared by a simple stirring method as a high-performance oxygen evolution reaction (OER) electrocatalyst in alkaline solutions. Utilizing synergistic effect between Fe and Ni, the Fe0.2Ni0.8Se2 catalyst exhibits excellent OER electrocatalytic activity and high stability in 1 M KOH solution, with the overpotential of 242 mV when the current density is 10 mA cm−2. As far as we know, this result is better than most of the nickel- based electrocatalysts reported.
