Abstract

Last week, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration authorized marketing of the first set of vaping — officially called electronic nicotine delivery system (ENDS) — products ever. The issued marketing granted orders to R.J. Reynolds (RJR) Vapor Company for its Vuse Solo closed ENDS device and accompanying tobacco‐flavored e‐liquid pods, specifically, Vuse Solo Power Unit and Vuse Replacement Cartridge. In authorizing the marketing, the FDA agreed with RJR's data showing that the products are appropriate for the protection of public health.
