Abstract

A 59-year-old woman with an extensive smoking history (2 packs per day for 30 years) presented with symmetrical, progressively enlarging lesions in each upper eyelid. The masses consisted of multiple coalescing comedones on a well-circumbscribed plaque (Fig 1). Excisional biopsy demonstrated epidermal atrophy, multiple infundibular cysts, and comedones with a nonspecific chronic inflammatory reaction (Fig 2, hematoxylin and eosin stain, original magnification ×2.5). The findings are compatible with the diagnosis of Favre-Racauchot syndrome. Heavy smoking and chronic sun exposure are the most frequent risk factors.
