Abstract

Doubly salient electromagnetic generator (DSEG) is a new type of generator and excitation current of it is crucial during the power generation. In order to enable DSEG to fault-tolerant operation when excitation fault occurs and excitation current is lost, the excitation fault of DSEG is studied and a fault-tolerant control strategy based on H-bridge converter is proposed for the excitation fault of DSEG. This paper firstly introduces the DSEG power generation system and its basic operating principle, then the excitation fault of DSEG is analyzed and the fault-tolerant operating principle of DSEG under the condition of losing excitation current is introduced. At last, the fault-tolerant control strategy of DSEG under excitation fault is given. Simulation and experiment results validate the correctness of the proposed method.
