Abstract

In this study, a novel fault-tolerant control scheme is proposed for a class of T-S fuzzy time-delays systems with sensor faults based on fuzzy descriptor system approach. The control strategy takes the form of parallel distributed compensation. Letting the sensor fault term to be an auxiliary state vector, an augmented fuzzy descriptor model is constructed. Then, a novel fuzzy observer is designed for the augmented fuzzy descriptor systems, which can estimate the state vector and sensor faults simultaneously. Based on the estimated sensor fault, a fault-tolerant control scheme is proposed. The main results are formulated in the form of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), which can be readily solved via Matlab LMI toolbox. Finally, simulation results on a truck trailer systems show the effectiveness of the presented fault-tolerant control approach.
