Abstract
This paper presents the design of robust control strategy for an interleaved buck converter IBC for automotive application with a focus on the current sharing between cells and the fault tolerant capability in the presence of sensor faults and cell failure. The design of the controller is based on backstepping control approach and compared with a standard proportional-integral PI controller to improve fault tolerant strategy. Experimental results and simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach. It exhibits excellent performances and robustness under normal and fault operations.
