Abstract

This paper presents a new approach to the proportional-derivative (PD) observer design for descriptor system subject to faults and exogenous unknown disturbance. The asymptotic estimate of the descriptor system state and fault are obtained simultaneously. In order to minimize the influence of exogenous unknown disturbance on the estimation, knowledge on the disturbance/noise, such as frequency, is embedded into the design to enhance the performance of fault reconstruction. The proposed method is posed on the solution of LMI and guarantees the estimation of the state and faults to the robust face to exogenous unknown disturbance. A numerical example is included.
