Abstract
In recent years, surge arrester damage on a distribution line has been drawn attention. The ratio of surge arrester damage to all the lightning damage is very high at the coast of the Sea of Japan where thunderstorms in winter are notable. In this paper, the authors estimate the fault rate of the power distribution line connected to the turbine through the EMTP.
