Abstract

In order to improve the fault line location accuracy of high voltage distribution network, a fault line impedance location method based on heuristic search is proposed. Firstly, the heuristic search algorithm is used to calculate the current at the fault point combined with the three-phase admittance matrix in the branch. Secondly, based on the calculation results of fault point current, the symmetrical component method is used to calculate the fault phase voltage at the protection measurement. In order to facilitate the research, it is defined that the fault of high-voltage distribution network occurs in overhead transmission line. Finally, based on the linear transformation formula of distance, the fault line location results are derived. The experimental results show that compared with the traditional fault location methods, this method can accurately calculate the fault point current, and the location accuracy of this method does not decrease with the increase of fault distance.
