Abstract

The paper is devoted to the problem of fault identification (reconstruction) in systems which are described by nonlinear equations under the unmatched disturbances. A novel approach to construct sliding mode observer is suggested for systems do not satisfying the general conditions required for fault identification: minimum phase, matching, and detectability conditions. The suggested approach is based on the reduced-order model of the original system invariant with respect to the disturbance. This allows reducing the dimension of sliding mode observer and relax the limitations placed on the original system.
