Abstract
Abstract This paper outlines some results on the setup of a fault diagnosis procedure applied to a roller for plastic band. Two observer based methods, using fuzzy and analytical techniques, are investigated and compared for the residual generation. The residual evaluation procedure is based on fuzzy clustering. Some results of the complete procedure are shown and analysed to evaluate the approach.
