Abstract

As an effort to expand new & renewable energy, research on DC microgrid is needed. A DC microgrid can reduce power conversion steps and increase energy efficiency by directly connecting the DC output of an RES (Renewable Energy System) to a digital DC load by changing the AC distribution system to a DC distribution system. The KEPCO has selected a low voltage supply voltage of ± 750Vdc and proposed a standard model of an ungrounded LVDC distribution system. In recent years, a ± 750Vdc Testbed that includes and an artificial failure device is being constructed for various simulations of the LVDC distribution system in Gochang, Korea. In this paper, the LVDC grid connected PV in the Gochang Power Test Center was selected and the LVDC grid was modeled using PSCAD software. In order to examine the effects of various faults in the LVDC grid modeling, a faults analysis was performed through PSCAD simulation.
