Abstract

Objective: To identify the main common mental disorders identified among teachers. Materials and methods: This is a literature review with research in several virtual libraries, such as the nursing database (DENF), Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature (LILACS) and Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO). Results: Stress is one of the most common problems faced, characterized by a state of permanent tension, causes an intense imbalance in the body, which can trigger several serious diseases. Conclusion: The lack of motivation to work is one of the main factors that lead many teachers to look for other jobs and suffer from mental illnesses. The revaluation of education professionals, together with better salaries and a decent workload, would lead to a greater demand for the area and a better quality of life.
