Abstract
The functional dependence of the fatigue limit under impact loading on the fatigue limit in harmonic loading was derived for structural steels, together with the dependence of the coefficient of the effect of impact on impact toughness. The impact toughness values at which multicycle impact loading is detrimental are determined.
