Abstract
A procedure which estimates the low-cycle fatigue life of bellows on the basis of elastic-plastic calculations is treated. A U-shaped bellows is taken as an example for the analysis and comparison is made with the measured data. A design formula, in which Langer's method is modified so that it includes in its expression the strain concentration factor, is proposed for the fatigue life estimation.
