Abstract
Cold recycling technology can reuse the reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) at room temperature, and shows obvious advantages of energy saving and emission reduction. To understand fatigue fracture and self-healing behaviors of cold recycled waterborne epoxy resin/styrene butadiene rubber latex modified emulsified asphalt (WSEA) mixture, three indicators including healing ratios of fatigue life, fracture energy, and toughness index were proposed to study self-healing behaviors and anti-cracking mechanisms of cold recycled WSEA mixture. Results indicated that the cracks of cold recycled WSEA mixture were healed by the adhesive healing and cohesive healing behaviors, so the three indicators of cold recycled WSEA mixture were increased after microcapsules played a healing role. The microcapsule content of 4% was recommended to prepare the cold recycled WSEA mixture.
