Abstract

Pure magnesium sheets with a rolling reduction of 40% were obtained by hot rolling at different temperatures. Effects of rolling temperature on microstructures, mechanical properties, texture and dynamic recrystallization development were studied in this article. The texture evolution of the as-rolled pure Mg sheets was analyzed by the electron backscattered diffraction (EBSD) method. Mechanical properties of the as-rolled pure Mg sheets showed an obvious anisotropy due to the grain shape. The Hall–Petch effect and strain anisotropy were discussed in detail on the basis of experiment in this article. The suitable temperature of pure Mg rolling with a rolling reduction of 40% is determined as 230 °C by the experiment.
