Abstract
For operating giant hydro generator units, those who adopt flexible supports, there are horizontal low frequency vibration problems in varying degrees on stators. A hazard to the stator is mainly manifested in fatigue damage. To analysis and evaluate the fatigue damage of this low frequency vibration on stators, one unit was selected for this research, whose vibration and run-out was larger. First, modal analysis of the stator was conducted, and the results showed that the low frequency vibration cannot cause the resonance of the stator. Then, based on the calculated model of unbalanced magnetic pull, the magnitude of the unbalance magnetic pull was calculated. Finally, this paper mainly focus on the amplitude and the stress of stator under unbalanced magnetic pull. The results showed that low frequency vibration could not cause fatigue damage to the stator.
