Abstract

Myocardial infarction developed in a cardiopulmonary resuscitation trainee shortly after manikin practice for mouth-to-mouth ventilation and external cardiac compression. This proved fatal despite two and a half hours of resuscitation attempts, including insertion of an intra-aortic counterpulsation balloon.
