Abstract

Conclusions Primary HPF is an extremely rare condition in patients with a right-sided CDH. When this finding is suspected or encountered at surgery, complete radiological imaging should be performed before surgical correction to identify possible aberrant venous and arterial anatomy. Retaining a portion of the fusion and only partial closure of the defect may be reasonable to prevent catastrophic complications.
