Purpose: Firearm injuries are the third leading cause of death in children between 0-17 years of age. Approximately 5% of children in the US have been witness to a shooting related incident. This study aims to examine the prevalence of pediatric firearm injuries presenting to US trauma centers and to examine the intent and outcomes of such incidents.
