Abstract

Adjacent ground and decalcified frozen sections of carious human teeth were stained with a variety of fat stains. Superficial localization was considered to be related to bacteria. The localization of stains found deeper in the lesion suggested a change in the peri tubular dentin. Fatty degeneration as previously described did not occur.
