Abstract

After administration of a test dose of 131I triolein, plasma and stool radio-activity levels in pellagrins were not significantly different from those of control subjects. When diarrhoea was induced with magnesium sulphate, plasma radio-activity levels after oral 121I triolein were similar in pellagrins and control subjects. It is concluded that there is no impairment in fat absorption in pellagrins.
