Abstract

AbstractIn this paper a new semivectorial finite‐difference beam‐propagation method (FD‐BPM) technique for the analysis of nonlinear optical devices is presented. The proposed technique relies on the application of the Runge–Kutta method to perform each propagation step; it is easier to use than the Crank–Nicholson‐based FDBPM method and exhibits better numerical performance. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
