Abstract
Wet scrubbers, with the advantages of high efficiency and efficient water savings, are often used in various industries. The internal gas-liquid two-phase pattern flow in a wet scrubber is complex and unstable, which affects the purification efficiency. However, the purification efficiency of a wet scrubber is rather difficult to measure in real time with the current techniques. Due to the lack of monitoring and control means, this is often in an inefficient operation state in the field. In this study, a real-time particle removal efficiency measurement method for wet scrubbers that is accurate and reliable is developed by combining image information entropy analysis, image grayscale conversion technology and minimum query window technology. The measurement error for purification efficiency is approximately 10%. Compared with the traditional measurement method, the proposed method has higher accuracy, faster speed and a high degree of automation. Detailed information of the gas-fluid pattern flow field has been revealed with image information entropy analysis.
